EGON SCHIELE was a 20th century Austrian master painter and remains, possibly, the most admired artist by Figurative Art Students worldwide.
Not just for his brilliant and awe inspiring work but for the depth of honesty he captured in his highly personal drawings and paintings.
He was born in 1890 and died at a young 28 in 1918 leaving behind an astounding volume of work. He was a protege of the Viennese master painter Gustav Klimt.
Schiele excelled at figurative drawings, watercolors and oils as well as his stunning landscapes and beautifully observed still life. He even worked as a Fashion Illustrator!
His work is instantly recognizable for his unique shapes, line, color and composition.
He lived life his way, on his terms, for better or worse.
