Designer /Artist Stephen Sprouse ( 1953-2004) exploded into the Fashion scene in the early 80's with his Bold, Graphic and Chic interpretation of London's Violent Punk-Rock Style and created a fresh look with his obsession with Neons, Black ,Silver and his iconic Graffiti style spontaneous hand lettering . He sold his vision of the "Downtown" ( East Village Rocker) look to all the "Uptown" stores like Bergdorf's, Barney's and Saks. In the process he introduced Terry Toye, a sleek, blond transgender model who was his muse and constant companion. Louis Vuitton incorporated his art and aesthetics to their classic monogrammed luggage and accessories in 2001, allowing Marc Jacobs to relive his student days at Parsons....when Manhattan rocked Neon Camo into the night.....
Sprouse created many stage costumes and Album Covers for his muse Debbie Harry, who rocked the 80's with her band BLONDIE.
The iconic queen of 80's Downtown club/fashion scene, Miss Terry Toye.
