Artists' sketchbooks: Joy of Drawing

Drawing is the most universal  tool of visual communication , whether recording a setting on location , observing an object or expressing an imagined  world combining collage with hand drawing.
Keeping an art journal allows viewers to appreciate the personal choices, comments and techniques of  an artist...to be inspired, informed and delighted.

Tom Ford for YSL 2001

Mr. Ford built a razor sharp collection inspired by the sleek, minimal menswear style of an iconic YSL muse and confidant, BETTY CATROUX. The straighter than straight hair, neutral makeup and orchid choker works beautifully to create a fresh, new, androgynous Vamp....strutting to the perfect soundtrack.

The High-line Park: a fresh & GREEN city icon.

A rare and SMART public design space re-appropriating an ancient, neglected elevated railroad running through the west Village of Manhattan into a spectacular green walkway to enjoy viewing the world's most famous Urban Jungle....especially at sunset. Running a mile between Gansevoort Street to West 30th Street, connecting the Meatpacking District, West Chelsea and Midtown West. Visitors can now enjoy new views of the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and the New Yorker Hotel.
Designed by New York-based design firms James Corner Field Operations and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. New York invested $115 million on the project but it is being credited with producing an estimated $2 billion in private investment in the surrounding West Chelsea area, plus 8,000 construction jobs.
