Guy Bourdin for Charles Jourdan

French Photographer Guy Bourdin explored witty/ironic/disturbing narratives inspired by real life crime-scene photos when he shot the Ad Campaign for Charles Jourdan shoes in the late 70's.
His compositions were superb in spite of the controversial references.
Such concepts are never as welcome during socially conservative times.
There was a creative freedom in this era that produced many iconic and provocative images in the high fashion glossies.....and it permanently influenced my aesthetic in high school when, every month, Vogue served up a bounty of visual surprises.
